The first year provides common academic training in areas such as crop sciences, crop protection, population biology, molecular biology and statistics. During the second year, students specialise in areas of integrated pest management and different agricultural systems before completing a Master’s thesis.
The programme is delivered in English at most partner institutions. However, courses at the French partner universities are taught in French during the second year.
The 2027–2029 intake is the programme’s 12th intake. Applications for admission and Erasmus Mundus scholarship consideration are submitted through the same online application system.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected candidates who receive the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarship will receive:
- Full tuition coverage: 100% of the programme’s participation costs, including tuition fees and mandatory academic costs.
- Monthly stipend: €1,400 per month for up to 24 months.
- Insurance: Full insurance coverage during the programme.
- Travel and visa support: The monthly stipend is intended to help cover travel, visa, installation and living expenses.
The scholarship is available to EU and non-EU students. However, admission to the Master’s programme does not automatically mean that an applicant will receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
PlantHealth also offers separate consortium scholarships to outstanding candidates, subject to funding availability. These may provide a fee waiver but do not cover travel, accommodation or living expenses. Applicants should therefore distinguish these awards from the fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
