Who Can Apply?

To be considered for the 2027 AfDB Internship Program, applicants must satisfy the official eligibility requirements.

Applicants must:

  1. Be 30 years old or younger by 31 December 2026.
  2. Be a national of an African Development Bank member country.
  3. Hold a bachelor’s degree and currently be enrolled in a master’s degree programme at a recognized public or private higher-education institution, or be applying within one year of obtaining a master’s degree.
  4. Provide proof of university or institutional enrolment where applicable.
  5. Be able to communicate effectively in English or French, with working knowledge of the other language.
  6. Be able to use standard software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Knowledge of SAP is desirable.

The Bank’s targeted fields include areas such as agriculture, human capital, engineering, investment, sustainability, procurement, finance, economics, statistics and data management, governance, information technology, communications, legal studies, human resources, translation and interpretation, and other fields relevant to the Bank’s operations.

The Bank also indicates that female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
