About the Research Analyst Program

The Research Analyst Program enables participants to support IMF economists in research, policy analysis and data-driven decision-making.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Data Science or another related quantitative discipline.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5/4.0 (or equivalent) in both the overall degree and major field.
  • Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Be able to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of STATA, EViews, MATLAB, Python or R is highly desirable. Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualisation tools is considered an advantage.
