Applications are now open for the DAAD-Supported SCO Scholarships for the Master of Business Research (MBR) 2026/2027 at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

The scholarships are offered through the Africa Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Operations for Resource Management and Food Supply (SCO) with financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The programme aims to develop highly skilled researchers and future leaders in business research, logistics, operations management and sustainable food supply systems.

The two-year Master of Business Research programme is delivered by the Department of Management Science and Project Planning, University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the University of Ghana, the University of Dar es Salaam, Kuehne Logistics University (Germany) and LEARN Logistics by Kühne Foundation.

About the Scholarship

The Master of Business Research (MBR) is a newly established postgraduate programme that provides advanced training in business research methodologies, analytical techniques and evidence-based decision-making.

Students receive interdisciplinary training from university professors and industry experts in logistics, supply chain management, business economics, operations management and management science. Throughout the programme, scholars develop the research skills required to address business and development challenges, particularly within Africa’s food and agricultural supply chains.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Hold a BSc/BA or MA/MBA/MSc or an equivalent qualification in Business Studies, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness Management, Economics, Operations Management, Management Science, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Have an undergraduate qualification with at least Second Class Upper Division or an equivalent GPA.
• Already be admitted into the Master of Business Research programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
• Demonstrate basic analytical and research skills using relevant data analysis software.
• Have excellent written and spoken English.
• Be a citizen of Kenya, Tanzania or Ghana.

Experience in business, agribusiness, logistics, operations management or supply chain research will be an added advantage.
