About the Fellowship

The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship aims to strengthen the leadership capacity of professionals tackling climate change and clean energy challenges across emerging and developing economies.

The fellowship combines academic learning, policy discussions and practical collaboration with leading scholars, policymakers and industry experts. Participants also become part of an international community committed to accelerating climate solutions in their respective countries and regions.

Fellowship Structure

The programme consists of three integrated phases:

Phase 1 – Yale Orientation Week

Fellows participate in an intensive one-week programme at Yale University from 1–5 February 2027, engaging with Yale faculty and climate experts on key issues shaping the global clean energy transition.

Phase 2 – Remote Learning Journeys

Between March and June 2027, fellows participate in six interactive virtual learning sessions while collaborating on a group project addressing climate and energy challenges.

Phase 3 – Paris Closing Week

The fellowship concludes in Paris, France, from 14–18 June 2027, where fellows engage with international organisations, policymakers and climate experts before presenting their collaborative policy recommendations.

Eligibility Criteria

• Have five to ten years of professional experience with demonstrated achievements.
• Show a strong record of work related to climate change or clean energy.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to creating positive impact.
• Be fluent in English.
• Be available to participate fully in all programme activities, including:
  • Yale Orientation Week (1–5 February 2027)
